I just bought a propane grill. I got tired of buying charcoal on a regular basis. Since I’ve never had a propane grill, I’m not sure how to transport the tanks. Is traveling with a propane tank in the car safe?

Hank Hill would be proud of your transition! But if you’re nervous about transporting flammable gas, don’t be.
It’s safe to travel with a propane tank in the car, so long as you take proper precautions:
Keep the tank upright. Putting it on its side increases the pressure inside. A release valve then lets out extra gas, which can pump your car full of flammable propane.
Don’t smoke in your vehicle. Now is not the time to risk it.
Don’t put the tank in your trunk or the bed of your pickup. If you’re in a rear-end accident, the propane may explode.
Keep the tank cool and out of direct sunlight. Again, if the tank overheats, the pressure valve kicks into action, releasing flammable gas.
