The rules for transportation of propane tanks, regardless of the type of vehicle you have, are as follows:

Therefore, if you have an open commercial vehicle such as a pick-up truck, you can transport up to five100 lbs tanks at a time without requiring hazardous materials training or one larger tank larger than 100 lbs at a time for a maximum of 500 kg including both the gas and the tank.
If you are using a closed, commercial, cube-style vehicle, you can transport the same quantity of tanks as with an open vehicle, but the area must be properly ventilated during transportation.
If you are using a personal vehicle, such as a car, the largest size of bottle you may transport is 40 lbs and the number of reservoirs varies for a maximum weight of 150 kg. Additionally, you must place the tanks on the floor of the passenger side with the window open or in the trunk if the trunk remains ajar to ensure adequate ventilation.
The rule for transporting propane tanks, regardless of the type of vehicle you are using, is as follows:
- Tanks must be transported vertically and be properly secured in the vehicle. Tanks must be transported in a well-ventilated area.
Note: According to the Quebec Highway Safety Code, non-compliance with regulations governing tank transport may result in fines greater than the cost of delivery and collection by Gaz Propane Rainville inc.
