Reports Surfaces About Rob & Chyna Season 2 Was In Fact Renewed After Producer Testified It Wasn’t “Greenlit” (2024)

Jeff Jenkins, the former co-president of Bunim-Murray and executive producer of the 2016 reality series “Rob & Chyna,” recently testified in court that the former couple never received a green light to shoot a second season for the series.

During his testimony, Jenkins also claimed that networks including BET, VH1, Lifetime, and MTV weren’t in favor of picking up a show that featured Blac Chyna alone and that he wouldn’t support a second season due to the pair’s volatility.

“I would not pick up this show,” he admitted via Zoom from his home in San Pedro, Calif. “There was no more Rob and Chyna.”

Jenkins, however, did say he greenlit the pair’s first season after he met with them. He saidChyna came off as “witty,” and Rob Kardashian seemed very happy in his relationship.

“That was really exciting,” Jenkins said. “That was the first, and the last time I saw the couple happy.”

But apparently, by the time the show started filming, the two were at odds.

“She was furious with him… and he was furious with her. It was very negative. It was very difficult to shoot a show ‘Rob & Chyna In Love’ when they were not even talking to each other.”

Even after “gently encouraging” the two to seek both couple and individual therapy, it was too difficult to film Rob and Chyna together, as they “couldn’t even be in the same room” and were “disgusted” with one another.

Jenkins also mentioned a meeting at Kris Jenner’s home after the couple’s December 2016 fight, where some gave their concerns over the incident. Chyna didn’t attend the meeting, Jenkins testified.

The producer’s testimony helps to argue against Chyna’s claim that the Kardashian family used their influence to cancel the show, a claim the family has denied, Page Six reported.

Following the testimonies of Jenkins and Kris Jenner on Friday, the proceedings ended two and a half hours early due to Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, telling the judge in his chambers that she wasn’t feeling well.

Earlier that day, Kris became emotional while on the stand as she recounted being “traumatized” by Chyna pulling a gun on her son Rob.

She also addressed a letter that Rob allegedly wrote that asked her not to cancel Season 2 of his show. “I don’t believe those are Rob’s words. I think someone wrote it for him,” she said. She also confirmed that the show wasn’t picked up for a second season.

However, reports are circulating on social media showing that Rob & Chyna’s season 2 was, in fact, renewed.

According to Deadline, E! picked up an eight-episode second season of the reality series Rob & Chynafor premiere in 2017.
